Im gonna start saying that this is such a nice netbook, from the design to the functionality, size and weight.
Some say this has an issue with the fan and claim that is too noisy but thats not true mine is very quiet, doesnt overheats.
keyboard is good not as normal keyboard but you get used too it.
the 6 cell battery is a charm, with low brihtness you can get up to 8 hours.
some key features are 1key recovery, web cam mic, face recognition.
I love lenovo this is my first netbook and im already using it more than my primary laptop (wich is an ideapad y510)its just so easy to get on the web.
It has an quick boot option that puts you on the web or skype or im in less than 30secs, this option is so handy.
overall i recommend this netbook its good on design, price, and performance, i have never had any issue with my other lenovo and this one seems to be good as well.

I purchased the Lenovo S10-2 Black Netbook from TigerDirect through Amazon several weeks ago. From the moment you open the box, you know you’ve bought a quality product. Please note the picture shown during the writing of this review is of the old S10 and not the S10-2. The computer is sleek and very light. The screen is amazing!! As a self proclaimed gadget geek, as always I research and research before purchasing a product. For the price and what you get, you won’t get a better value on a netbook. Connecting to my wireless network was seemless. Did I mention how light it was? I am now the envy of all my co-workers who now want one,LOL. Go buy one, you won’t be dissapointed.

I love this thing!

This netbook blows my wife’s MSI Wind out of the water. It seems as if Lenovo got almost everything right. I use it daily for web surfing, email, Openoffice, Skype, etc.

I did have a problem with it staying in sleep mode when I first got it – that is the only reason that it is not getting a 5. I resolved my sleep problems by disabling hibernation (I am sure someone out there will be hunting for a fix – I am not the only one who has had this problem).

The glossy black color is pretty bad with fingerprints.

Glossy screen is a minus in my opinion, but I have not minded it so far. Screen is bright and crisp!

Battery life is awesome.

Touchpad works very well – no problems from me on that.

Keyboard is a little cramped but very usable.

It won’t disappoint!

Owned for 1.5 years now STILL GOING STRONG

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my netbook. I own a white Lenovo S10-2 with windows xp and just adore it. Originally I bought it because it was cheap and had a long battery life (for traveling) after I traveled all over Europe for several months with it I came home and started using it at home full time. This baby has been dropped on pavement several times and it has survived. It has also been drowned in my purse (I recommend getting a cheap neoprene sleeve for this reason). Even my computer nerd brother agrees that my Lenovo is pretty cool.

My favorite things about it are:
1. battery life (its apprx. 4 hours long- even after 1.5 years of use the battery still functions really well- on normal laptops it gets shot within a few months.
2. One Key Recovery- I had to do an emergency reboot yesterday because some new download software malfunction wouldn’t let me access windows- I was overjoyed to click QS and it started rebooting, it even opened the option of letting me save all my files and programs to a thumb drive first… so I didnt lose any of my things. Super easy and quick reboot. Yay!
3. How lightweight it is. Really great for traveling.
4. Face recognition option instead of a regular password to access computer.
5. Microphone and camera built in so u can skype without a headset.

This net book is a little slower then a full size laptop for things like gaming. I play games on here a lot. It also, doesn’t have a cdrom.

Tips: I find that google chrome works really well with it because it has less toolbars at the top and its faster. Also, CCleaner which is a free download is really great because it cleans out all the temp files off your computer everytime you turn it on…. which really helps keep it running fast.

If my little Lenovo decides to give up the ghost I will be getting one again… its cheap enough where you don’t even need to get a warranty for it. With shipping and everything it cost me a mere $270.00 and has lasted for over 1 1/2 years now! I recommend this netbook.

Best Netbook with the best price!

This is definitely one of the best netbook on the market, and considering the price, this Lenovo S10-2 Netbook IS THE BEST. I am surprised that there are so few reviews here.

I got this product two weeks ago, and it is working great! Battery life is 6-7 hours. Looks very cool and is indeed very stable. You can enlarge the view on the screen just with the touchpad, which is very convenient for a netbook with small screen.

One big advantage is the price. There are too much similar netbooks on this level. Some of them are more popular, bu they are really not that different. So the price become the advantage of this netbook.

Lenovo makes very reliable computer with surprisingly cheap price. I feel very comfortable carrying it with me wherever I go.

Enjoy it!

a good product

I have had this netbook for one day. It has so far proven to be a good buy. It is very light, and works well overall. My one complaint is that when using the SD card slot, the card sticks out of the computer a few millimeters, but it isn’t anything too bad. The keyboard is good; unlike other netbooks that I have seen, there aren’t any keys in odd places. Overall I would recommend this product.

Sweet!

First of all, it’s definitely not a desktop replacement and not a laptop (or notebook). It delivers what it promises and has a very neat resolution. The keyboard is obviously small, but without being too cramped. It doesn’t get too warm and it’s quite light. I highly recommend it for anyone who moves a lot and needs something more than just a hand-held device for activities such as communication, text processing, presentations, and maybe some online entertainment.
